THE SHOWROOM is excited to formally present URBAN PROJECT, a collaborative effort introducing Nashville's gifted graffiti artists and urban designers. They are the controversial, the mysterious and the underestimated. We walk by their work on a daily basis all the while selling short the importance of the urban design and guerilla style art that they struggle to master without text books.
The Showroom physically reflects the street scene dynamic and personality that these artists grew up with, including graffiti pieces, audio mixes by Mattatattat and perhaps a performance by a local dance crew. John Judkins, a talented local graffiti artist has created a masterpiece on the center wall of the gallery, an incredible, colorful display of his tag name, “Ragoe”. This show takes on a life of its own... a wonderful excuse to celebrate The Showroom's one-year anniversary.
URBAN PROJECT also highlights various hip-hop clothing designers as
well as Quincy Crutchfield's chain-inspired jewelry, recycled from reclaimed
odds and ends.
