THE BEGINNING
NEW YORK CITY
After involvement with various other galleries and institutions, Sera made the plunge into the most saturated and highly esteemed art market in the world, New York City. She began her relentless attendance at all of the major art fairs, further developing her relationships and enabling her to place "a finger on the pulse."
Starting her career as Director of International Projects and Assistant Gallery Director in the Chelsea Gallery district, Sera decided to shift her energies and expand her horizons as a corporate Art Consultant and Curator for Anglo Irish Bank. For the next three years Sera worked with the corporation’s executives, interior designers and architects to develop, expand and catalogue their corporate art collection in their NYC, Chicago and Boston locations.
The collection, totaling more than 90 specifically chosen fine art pieces, exuded the professional credibility, aesthetic vitality and everyday stimulation that the company desired for their clients and personnel. Sera achieved this through building an eclectic contemporary collection of emerging artists with in their budget. The investment reflected the ambitious and dynamic modern vision that the multi-billion dollar investment bank wished to portray.
